We had an absolutely terrible experience with Tanzania Assist. First, they showed up 3 hours late, which completely ruined our schedule. Second, they brought the wrong vehicle – instead of the Toyota Hiace we booked, they sent a run-down daladala that was in poor condition and totally unsuitable for our needs.
To make matters worse, we learned that the drivers are paid shockingly low wages, despite the enormous effort and responsibility they carry. This is unacceptable and shows a complete lack of respect for both customers and staff.
I strongly advise anyone to avoid Tanzania Assist. Unprofessional, unreliable, and unethical.

We noticed that your group has written multiple 1-star reviews – we are very sorry that you feel that way, and that your second booking caused frustration 😔 especially as your first booking went smoothly, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify the situation.
All bookings made through TanzaniaAssist are fulfilled by carefully selected local partner companies. In this case, shortly before the service, the originally planned vehicle developed a technical defect. To avoid a cancellation, the supplier organized a short-term replacement vehicle so your journey could still take place.
After you raised concerns about this replacement, we immediately worked with the supplier to arrange a second replacement, which was the Toyota Hiace as originally booked. To accommodate the situation, this vehicle was provided with a driver at no additional cost, even though the original booking was without a driver.
Unfortunately, unexpected technical issues can occur, particularly in challenging operating environments like Tanzania. While this differs from standards you may be used to in Switzerland, our team made every effort to react quickly, minimize disruption, and meet your requirements under the circumstances.
Regarding compensation: while we understand your dissatisfaction, the requested 70% discount was not considered proportionate, as the service was fully delivered, multiple replacement vehicles were arranged on short notice, and an additional driver was provided free of charge. As the service was delivered by a local partner, any refund would need to be approved by the partner, who declined this request for the reasons mentioned above.
We also take concerns about driver welfare seriously and work only with partners who operate within local regulations. Your feedback has been shared directly with the supplier for review.
We regret that this experience did not leave a positive impression, but we would like to acknowledge the strong efforts of our local team and partners to support you and find solutions despite the unexpected vehicle defect.
