Kikuletwa’s clear turquoise waters stay a comfortable temperature thanks to geothermal springs, creating an unusual swimming spot in the otherwise dry savannah between Moshi and Arusha.

Small fish nibble gently at swimmers’ feet, and the surrounding fig trees provide shade and, for the adventurous, a rope swing into the deeper part of the pool.

The tour was interesting, and the driver was good. However, we feel the travel agency should have informed us in advance about the guides who wait at the park entrances and accompany tourists to geysers and waterfalls. The booking confirmation made no mention of this at all; it only stated that park entrance fees, food, and drinks were not included. When we have no idea how much the guide’s services will cost, we don't know how much cash to bring, since credit cards aren't accepted in places like that.
