Kigoma ⇆ Kasulu
This short regional transfer takes about 2 to 3 hours and is commonly used by travelers heading to the nearby Burundi border or locals visiting family. The road is paved and suitable for compact cars, although we recommend SUVs during rainy season for added comfort.

Kigoma ⇆ Uvinza
Uvinza lies southeast of Kigoma and is known for its salt production and connection to the central railway line. The road is decent, taking about 1.5 to 2 hours. This route is frequently booked by travelers linking up with the railway or heading toward Tabora.

Kigoma ⇆ Tabora
A longer inland route, this trip takes around 8 to 10 hours by road. It connects two of the west’s major towns and is best tackled in an SUV or 4×4 due to patchy road quality. Public buses operate this route, and we assist with booking reliable options.

Kigoma ⇆ Mpanda (via Katavi)
This transfer is popular among adventurers heading to Katavi National Park or continuing toward Mpanda. The journey takes around 10 to 12 hours and absolutely requires a 4×4. We can arrange knowledgeable drivers for travelers who wish to stop at Katavi or continue to Sumbawanga.

Kigoma ⇆ Mwanza (via ferry + road)
Although there’s no direct road link across Lake Tanganyika and Lake Victoria, this route involves a scenic combination of ferry and road travel. Travelers usually go via Uvinza, Tabora, and Shinyanga. It can take 2 days depending on connections. We assist in coordinating complex multi-stage transfers like this.

Kigoma ⇆ Dodoma
While a long journey (up to 13–15 hours), this route connects Kigoma to Tanzania’s capital. The roads are mixed, with some sections in poor condition, so a 4×4 is strongly recommended. Buses run a few times a week, and we help secure seats with the most reliable operators.

Bus & Train Coordination
Kigoma’s train station links to the Central Line railway, connecting to Tabora and onward to Dodoma or Dar es Salaam. While the trains are slow and infrequent, they offer a unique experience.
