About

Paddling One of Africa’s Great Lakes

Kigoma’s sheltered bays offer calmer paddling conditions than the open lake further south, making it a comfortable spot for both first-time and experienced kayakers.

The lake’s renowned clarity, among the best of any large freshwater lake, means paddlers can often see fish darting beneath the kayak in shallower areas.

The tour was interesting, and the driver was good. However, we feel the travel agency should have informed us in advance about the guides who wait at the park entrances and accompany tourists to geysers and waterfalls. The booking confirmation made no mention of this at all; it only stated that park entrance fees, food, and drinks were not included. When we have no idea how much the guide’s services will cost, we don't know how much cash to bring, since credit cards aren't accepted in places like that.

I contacted the agency online and they were prompt in their replies. They were able to suggest the itinerary for me, and were flexible with my requests. The driver was punctual and drove safely. There was no hard-selling.

I had never booked through this company before and was concerned. But the driver was even early and everything was perfect. Absolutely the most amazing lemur experience.
